Jetta's Story
Jetta

Our cats come to us in many ways but none as unusual as Jetta's arrival! You see, Jetta was quite the traveler when she was a baby. She hitched a ride from Lake City to Fernandina Beach in the dashboard of a car — a Volkswagen Jetta! It was quite a project to retrieve this kitten and required a trip to Tom Bush VW. All turned out well and Jetta just celebrated her first birthday and is ready to settle down in a loving FOREVER HOME.

A Cat’s Tale

by Frank and Lois,
St. Marys, Georgia

Max the Miracle Kitty

On July 28 our cruise vacation began in Miami where we parked our car at an airport motel and flew off to Europe. We returned to Miami on August 9 and stayed one night in the hotel where our car was parked. The next morning, as we were putting our luggage in the car, we noticed a note on the car window saying that a mother cat and her kittens were camping out under the car and to be careful when driving off. We placed some coffee cream and a piece of bread in front of the car to help the kitties with their food search.

When we backed out of the parking space, we saw the mother cat and a kitten eyeing the food and we were relieved that we had not injured any of the cats. On our trip back to St. Marys, however, when we made a brief stop in Jacksonville, we thought we heard a cat cry from under the car. We drove home to St. Marys, put the car in the garage and placed cat food and drink under the car… but the next morning there was no sign of the cat or sounds from the car.
Fearing the worst, Frank took the car to our local car repair center and explained the problem. Within minutes the mechanics rescued a tiny, alive, crying and very frightened three week old kitten from the motor area underneath the car.
The kitten is home with us now and joins his “sister”, also a foundling kitty, as a part of our family. This sweet, resilient kitten traveled over 400 miles right next to the engine and survived. It is truly a miracle.
Max is now 5 months old and he weighs 7+ pounds. He was so tiny and frail when he was rescued …now he is a bundle of energy, mischief and love.

Can You Help Just One?

Cats Angels has adult cats of every size and description who have been with us far too long and we are determined to find safe and loving homes for them this year. If you can take responsibility for just one animal in need, what a difference it would make.

Please, Don't Leave Your Cats Behind.

Cuddles

Cuddles' family moved away and left her behind. When her former family moved to California Cuddles was sadly left behind. Cats are very transportable. If you are moving, please take the little extra planning necessary to take all your family members with you to your new home. Cuddles was abandoned by her first family but has since been adopted and now has a new loving family.

Gloria Can't Understand Why She Is Homeless.

Gloria is a loving senior cat who reacts sweetly to any attention given her. Recently her humans cruelly broke their commitment to Gloria by taking her to a kill shelter because they decided she was no longer "convenient". Cats Angels rescued her and is looking for the FOREVER HOME she deserves in her golden years. She is declawed.
Can this sweet girl be your FOREVER CAT?

Hannah

Hannah & Squeekers'
Mom Went Into Hospice Care.

Hannah and Squeekers had a home together with a loving human mom. But their mom got very sick and was desperate to find a safe place for her beloved cats before she had to go into hospice care. She brought them to Cats Angels.

Both are sweet and loving adult female cats. Hanna, a five-year-old, is shy at first. Squeekers, who is three-years-old, is more outgoing.

Could you be the one to give them a new FOREVER HOME together, and fill the emptiness in their hearts?

Adoption Day for
Toby and Tripp!

These two young littermates were born without eyes. Yet, they can live normal happy lives and have no trouble finding their food dishes, litterbox, and toys with bells or crinkle balls that they can hear.

After spending a short time in foster care, Toby and Tripp met their new mom who will provide them with lots of love and a safe indoor FOREVER HOME.

Download our newsletter to read more about Toby and Tripp.

Beth Hackney, Executive Director of Cats Angels, hands over Toby and Tripp to their new adoptive mom.

Cats Angels Helped 1,200 Animals in 2012!

On behalf of Cats Angels, Inc. SPCA, the Board of Directors would like to thank all of our wonderful dedicated volunteers, supporters, adopters and donors for a successful 2012. Our Thrift Store had a great year thanks to all the wonderful donations from our community. Proceeds from our store help support many of our life-saving programs. Cats Angels helped over 1200 animals again last year, many needing more than just spay/neuter/vaccination but thanks to your generosity they received the care they needed.

We look forward to a successful 2013 and with your help we will continue our mission of helping the many animals of our community. Cats Angels, Inc. SPCA Board of Directors.

Buddy
Buddy is one of the sweetest cats you will ever meet. He tested positive for Feline AIDS and must be kept separate from other cats.

Stefano
Stefano is blind and was found wandering a grocery store parking lot. He has stolen the hearts of all the Cats Angels volunteers with his sweet personality.

Barbara Jean
Barbara Jean has been exposed to FIV, a viral disease that does not cause all cats to become ill. But exposed cats must be an only cat, or only be with other FIP cats.
